Closed on Sunday except for special events, and always happy to open after hours if you'll call first.

[click on thumbnails to see larger pictures] Pawnee Santa Fe Railroad Depot: These Pictures were donated by Ron Estes. Ron is a Railroad photographer who was born in Pawnee and whose father worked for the Sana Fe Railway in Pawnee. Ron's Father took these pictures.


Those needing research of any kind done by the Pawnee County Historical Society must contact the Historical society via phone, mail or email with the information you want looked up, including FULL names of ancestors, dates and any other leads you can give. We can not do research on "my great-great grandfather" without knowing his name.

Research costs: $10/hour and copies cost from $0.25 on up (The County Court House charges $5 minimum for copies of records stored there)

MONTHLY MEETINGS: 1st Wednesday of every Month, 1 pm, Museum

    • Saturday, October 12 8:30 am 'til ?... Flea Market so big this year, there will one in front of the Museum and another in the back!
      • 9:00 am 'til... Tour the Museum and Dick Tracy Headquarters
      • Display of Dick Tracy student Cartoon Art Contest.
      • Display of the first murder in cartoon history!
      • Cake, Cupcakes and punch in the museum!
      • Historical displays of early Pawnee county, communities, schools, athletes, war veterans, pioneers.
      • Plan for a really big day! The gazebo full of music, the courtyard full of fun.. vendors, displays, maybe indian tacos, frybread, bbq and other foods.
    • 10:00 am, Downtown Pawnee will be full of Police, ready for the world's only Dick Tracy Police Parade followed by the everything goes parade that will include old cars, groups, horses.. if you got 'em, march 'em! yellow or not!

      PLUS! An exciting graffiti art show, first of it's kind, only in Pawnee American! 15 of the best graffiti artists in Oklahoma with the contest starting on the courthouse yard and ending at the Berry Building. Music by Brian Frejo AKA "DJ Shock B".
