Museum closed Nov. 22-Nov 28th for holiday
The Pawnee County Historical Society wishes you all a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING and hope you enjoy your family, friends and food! We have decided to do the same!

The Museum will be CLOSED Wednesday (Nov. 22) until next Tuesday (Nov. 28). Should you have out of town guests that would like to tour the museum during this period, please call or text (918) 285-1363 or (918) 762-2163

Won't you please come on in and sit a spell, browse these pages, get to know us - our past, our present and our hopes for the future. These pages are ever changing, so come back often and watch us grow! THEN come vist the amazing Pawnee County Historical Society Museum & Dick Tracy Headquarters in Pawnee ... it's FREE and there is sooo much to see and enjoy! Hours: Tuesday thru Fri - 10am-4pm, CLOSED Sundays, Mondays and Saturdays

All staff members keeping the museum open have had the COVID-19 Vaccines & boosters to keep themselves and our guests healthy.

(please call before coming to make sure we're open)

We are always happy to open after hours if you'll call first for an appointment.

Those needing research of any kind done by the Pawnee County Historical Society must contact the Historical society via phone, mail or email with the information you want looked up, including FULL names of ancestors, dates and any other leads you can give. We can not do research on "my great-great grandfather" without knowing his name.

Research costs: $10/hour and copies cost from $0.25 on up (The County Court House charges $5 minimum for copies of records stored there)

If you are sure of the amount you will owe for the research you want done or copies you need, you can use the Paypal Donate Now button and input the amount.

  • October 2023 Pawnee Bill Ranch Museum Annual Quilt Show. Area quilters bring in their finest works and family heirlooms to share with the public. Everything from 100 year old traditional quilts to modern abstract masterpieces will be on exhibit during the museum’s regular hours of operation. The quilt show is free to the public.
